GEORGE, Merle Dean, 77, a resident of Marbury, AL, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Beth George, of Marbury, AL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry D. and Vicki George, Marbury, AL; Russell L. and Julie George, Maryville, TN; one brother, Cecil Robert George, Yucca Valley, CA; three sisters, Louise Ames, Rensselaer, IN; Beverly Teel, Ada, OK; Karen Bell, Prattville, AL; six grandchildren, Olivia George, Christopher George, Austin George, Brandon George,Hailey George and James May. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Coleman officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will follow at 2:45 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials can be made in his honor to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or The Gideons International.
