Mildred L. Dawson Connell

CONNELL, Mildred L., 82, a resident of Prattville, AL passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Loving to all, she was the perfect role model of a loving wife, dear mother, and a friend. She was such a compassionate person, loved people and enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Marbury Sr. Center, as well as with her grandchildren who brought her so much joy. In her spare time she enjoyed her love for quilt making. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Connell, and her sister Myrtle Dawson Pace. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Malcolm Baker, Shirley and Bobby Cook and Jackie and Bryan Alker, all of Prattville, AL; one brother, Andrew Dawson, Santuck, AL; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Roy and Rev. John Colquitt officiating. The body will lie in repose thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials can be made in her honor to Southern Care Hospice.
