Nell Herrod

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 7th from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM at the Prattville First Baptist Church followed by her funeral service at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Prattville Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Herrod was born in Autauga County on August 14, 1936 to the late Otis O’Neal Weldon and Ruby Doris Waites Weldon.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church and was very active in the equine community for over forty years.

She is survived by her loving husband, C.H. Herrod of Prattville; two daughters and a son in law, Nelda and Donnie Hix of Morriston, Fl., Cindy Lane Herrod of Prattville; two sons and a daughter in law, Shayne O’Neal Herrod of Prattville, Sidney Kyle and Kellie Herrod of Deatsville; five grandchildren, Stacy Lane Casey and her husband, Dustin, Kacey Lynn Powell and her husband, Joe, Callie Jo Lathan and her husband Chris, Sydney Elizabeth Herrod, Kyle Alexander Herrod; six great grandchildren, Emma, Laura and Andrew Casey, Anna and Claire Powell, Josie Lathan; two sisters and two brothers in law, Nadine and Horace Powell, Jackie and Larry Raines all of Prattville; one brother and a sister in law, O’Neal and Jenny Weldon of LaFayette, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Pallbearers will be Chris Lathan, Dustin Casey, Joe Powell, Chip Powell, Bobby Kelley and Pete Waldrop.
