She will be celebrated with a memorial service June 6, 2026 2-4 pm at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel at 347 East Main Street Prattville, AL 36067 officiated by Mr. Collier Hunt.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Merton A Rucker. They had been married 45 years until his death in 2008. She is survived by her four daughters, Sheila Thomas (Skipper), Laura Gall (Craig), Jennifer Byrne (Rod) and Valerie Russell (Russ); Grandchildren Timothy McFarland, Claire Gonzalez (Ryan), Christian Rucker, Matthew Martin and Blake Martin; great granddaughter Callie Anne Gonzalez as well as a host of step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren who all knew her as Nana Pam.
Pamela was born and raised in England until she met and married her husband who was in the US Air Force. She was proud to have obtained her GED and US citizenship. She retired as the Manager of the school nutrition program at the Intermediate School in Prattville. It was evident anytime you were around her at the school that the children all loved Nana Pam.
She enjoyed her flowers, her books and sparkly brooches. She enjoyed feeding wild birds and watching them at her numerous feeders. She was a wonderful cook and would often have all her family plus their friends for Sunday lunch. She enjoyed finding the perfect thing for other people at yard sales and bought many gifts for her daughters and grand-daughter from the Jewelry Channel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation made to Nana Pam’s favorite charity:

Ecclesiastes 3: 1,2,4
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant and to pluck up which has been planted,
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
