Patricia "Patsy" Vaughn

Patricia Davis Vaughn (Patsy), 90, went to be with her Lord on December 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Derrell Lynoid Vaughn Sr.; daughter, Shannon Vaughn Robinson; parents, Eloise Hoskins and David Wardlaw Davis, Sr. and; sister, Anna Davis Hall and brother, Dr. David W. Davis Jr. She is survived by her son, Derrell L. Vaughn Jr.; grandchildren, Derrell Vaughn, III, Davis Vaughn and Elizabeth Wesley Vaughn, 9 nieces and nephews and their children. Patsy is also survived by her special friend, Thelma Shuford.

Patsy was born in Birmingham, her family moved to Montgomery in the early 1930’s. Patsy graduated from Lanier High school in 1950, worked for Alabama Power Company, and married Lynoid in 1953 who was serving as an Air Force Medic during the Korean War. Later she earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Auburn University, Montgomery, graduating with highest honors.

Patsy’s love of the Lord was greatly enhanced by her 71 years of membership at Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she was baptized and married and where her funeral will be.

A visitation for Patsy will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Trinity Presbyterian Church from 12:30 – 1:30 PM. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
