Ray was born January 28, 1955 in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania to Robert Young, Sr. and the late Dorothy L. Welch Young. He was a Vietnam Era U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a “renaissance man” who was multitalented and had many working skills. He enjoyed working on cars and was a motorcycle enthusiast. Ray also enjoyed outdoor activities including fishing and sometimes hunting. He worked for 40 years with Waters Incorporated of Selma.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kristine Young of Autaugaville; two daughters son, Angelique Griggsby of Prattville, Nikki and Ronald Maryland of Midway, Georgia; a son Raymond Samuel Young, Jr. of Selma; father Robert Young, Sr.; two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Young, Jr., David Young; three sisters, Cynthia Dauberman, Dottie Lupold, Kim Shaffer; five grandchildren, Danielle Griggsby, Savannah Griggsby, Christopher Maryland, Nickolas Maryland, Sierra Maryland; one great grandchild, Kaydence Jade Griggsby and a host of nieces, nephews other family members and close friends.
