Seymour Finley, 87, of Millbrook, Alabama, passed away Saturday February 13, 2016. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Wednesday February 17th at the Alabama National Cemetery at Montevallo with Deacon Tom McPherson officiating.
Mr. Finley was born in Buffalo, New York on November 26, 1929 to the late Julius and Rachel Fineberg. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran and a retired educator serving for over 30 years with the San Diego, California Unified School District. He held a Master’s Degree and enjoyed sailing, woodworking, other leisure activities and was a member of the Deerfoot Baptist Church in Trussville, Alabama. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda of Montgomery; a son, Simon David Finley of Simi Valley, California; two stepsons, Robert Hardy and his wife Tawee of Lowndesboro, Alabama, Jerry E. Hardy, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Empire, Alabama; five grandchildren, Jonathon A. Hardy, Loren Grace Hardy, Jeh Hardy, Jordyn Hardy, John Singer; a sister in law, Sue Kelly and mother in law Jean C. Harrison, both of Chipley, Florida.
