He is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Sanford; parents, Charlie and Mary Sanford and brother in law, Sydney Medders.
Steiner is survived by his daughters, Beth Bishop (Mike), Beverly Slack; son, Steiner Douglas Sanford Jr.; grandchildren, Adam Slack, Jimmy Bishop; brothers, James Sanford jr. (Pat), Larry Sanford; friend, Johnny Wilson and best friend and traveling brother, James (Snuffy) Waldrop
He was a good father and brother and a very unique individual. He was a member of the IBEW L U 443 for 59 years.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 5:00PM at Ridouts Prattville Chapel, 347 E. Main St., Prattville, Al. 36067 with a visitation to follow.
