Vergil Grady Foust

FOUST, Vergil G. 93, a Prattville resident, passed away Sunday June 23, 2013. Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 26 at 11:00 AM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel with Dr. Leroy Stringfield and Dr. Garner Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Foust was born on April 24, 1920 in Cullman, Alabama to the late William P. and Nora Foust. He was a longtime member of the Autaugaville Baptist Church and was a retired insurance agent. Mr. Foust was preceded in death by Nell Foust, his loving wife of 64 years and his son-in-law, Wilber A. Gillyard.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Gillyard of Prattville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Lela Foust of Pace, Fl., Jim and Amanda Foust of Gainesville, Fl.,; brother and sister, Hubert Foust of Graham, TX., Vera Tennant, of N.M. ; six grandchildren, Justin Foust, Melissa (Mike) Herring, Derek (Kari) Foust, Laurie (Jeff) Soukup Michael (Tanya) Gillyard, Anne Marie (Mike) Roberson, and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members and close friends. Pallbearers will be Derek Foust, Michael Gillyard, Craig Walls, Hayward Hartzog, Jerry Green, and Benny Atcheson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class of Autaugaville Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Autaugaville Baptist Church, 2502 Hwy 14 W., Autaugaville, Al. 36003

Visitation will begin Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
