

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday July 1st at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. A private burial will follow at Prattville Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Harris was born on November 17, 1924 in Cuba, Alabama to the late David N. Wideman and Lurly Lee Fluker Wideman. She was a graduate of Cuba High School and attended business college in Meridian, MS. She worked as a secretary for many years in the government and private sectors. In 1978 she and her husband, Marshall founded the Auburn Erosion Control and served as the company’s president until 1989.
Mrs. Harris was a longtime member of the Prattville Wesleyan Church and Brookview Wesleyan Church. She loved her family and will always be remembered as a devoted servant of the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty years, Marshall U.G. Harris and a son Ronald Ugee “Ron” Harris. She is survived by her daughter in law Pam Harris of Hoover; two grandsons, Dr. David Harris of Washington, DC, Robert “Rob” Harris of Hoover; a longtime and close friend, Penny Atkinson of Jemison and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Prattville Wesleyan Church or the Brookview Wesleyan Church.
