Zama Madeline Hearn

Zama was preceded in death by her beloved husband John William Hearn and son’s Matt and Drew Hearn. She is survived by her eldest daughter Jan and her sons Alan and Neal in addition to numerous grand and great grandchildren.

Zama was an active member of the First Baptist Church and Sunday School where her faith played a central role in her life. In addition to her church involvement, she was also an avid Bridge player, known for her skills at the table.

Zama was mother to five, but “Mom” to many, her nurturing spirit extending beyond her own family. She was renowned for her exceptional hospitality, making every occasion grand and welcoming for all.

Zama believed in the power of books. She remained a lifelong member of the library reflecting her love for reading and learning. There was never a time where she didn’t have a book within reach in her cozy home.

As she journeys to join her heavenly family her legacy of warmth, generosity, and love will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation for Zama will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 138 S. Washington St., Prattville, AL 36067, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM.
