OBITUARY

Barry Mervyn Higgs

September 1, 1936 – February 22, 2026
Obituary of Barry Mervyn Higgs
IN THE CARE OF

First Memorial Funeral Services Lakewood Chapel

Barry will be profoundly missed by the love of his life, his beautiful wife, Charity. He will also be dearly missed by his children Valerie (Lorimer), David and Tracy (Anthony); his many grand and great grandchildren; his brother Neil (Elaine); his sisters-in-law Dianne, Betty, Diane and Toni and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barry was a tremendous man who adored his wife, his family, his friends. He was always filled with an abundance of joy, compassion and love for everyone. His laughter filled every room he entered. He led a full abundant life, enjoying his love for the great outdoors, golfing, fly fishing, playing and watching hockey and hiking wherever the trails would lead him. He was bold and adventurous until he could no longer live that way of life.

Barry is now set free from dementia that had been been robbing him of his memories but never of his love he had for people. No matter who crossed his path he would greet them with a large brilliant smile and a resounding HALLELUJAH! with his arms held high.

His love and devotion in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour was evident to all. He was a man after God's own heart.

The Lord took him home in a most serene and peaceful way. A great cloud of witnesses cheered as he entered heaven and into the loving arms of his Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Barry has left behind for us all, innumerable memories and grand stories to cherish and share for the rest of our lives.

We love you, we will miss you, until we meet again.
