I’m not sure what made me look for Betty ‘s name on Google at this time but was surprised to see her obituary.  Fred my best memories of you, Betty and your kids was when your family took Toivo,  me and our 2 yr old, Lisa, into your home when Toivo was in supervisory  training at BC Rail in North Van.   Lisa was just talking legibly  and her name  for Betty was Batty. I remember Betty laughing every time she said it.  Also, the nights you would take the tv remote from the boys so the “old folk” could watch Hee Haw.   Please take care of yourself and accept my sincere condolences. Thinking of you and yours.

Dear Uncle Fred:


Last night Bill Tupper contacted me on Facebook to let me know of Auntie Betty Lou and the stage of her illness.
This morning I received the note of her passing.


Although it has been many years since any of us have seen one another I felt compelled to let you know you are all in my thoughts.
61 years IS hard to imagine and my heart is heavy with your loss.


Just last week I was remembering the house in Maple Ridge and how amazing it was growing up and being a part of your family.
Auntie Betty had a special way of running the show.
I have an image of her tanned and beautiful like one of those fabulous TV mothers that everyone wanted to have.




I don't think life is about the ending, it is about the story.
And the part of the story of auntie Betty that I got to live was amazing!
I am thankful and grateful for her presence;
and the difference she made to a little girl like me is a beautiful memory I will cherish forever.

While we did not get to spend a lot of time with Betty Lou, It seems to be a Tupper trait. How ever I will remember the times I did enjoy Betty Lou's company and laughter when her and the family did get together. I am again truly sorry that we did not keep in touch more. Please accept my sincere condolences and pass them on to your family. Again if there is anything we can do please let me know. I will attempt to keep in touch.
