Margaret and Laury:  We have just learned of your Dad's passing from another retired Conservation Officer.
I had many memorable patrols and adventures with Brian while working with him in Pr. George in the 60's.  What a great group of people in the Fish and Wildlife Branch at that time (when you two were just little kids).
Carry on and remember the good times.

We have fond memories of so many things that it is impossible to list them here but I am sure you know about the warehouse cleanups on Fridays as those were some of my best forgotten but favourite memories. I worked with Brian during all of the 1980's, when I was the Regional Waste Manager in PG.  Brian was an excellent person to work with on the pollution related charges that went to court.  Of all the CO's, Brian was the most dedicated in dealing with the pollution offences.  A great guy!

Moose hunting adventures with Brian are among my best memories of Prince George. The companionship and friendship that he shared with Don and I is a memory that can never be forgotten. He was a true friend and a superb human being. My deepest condolences.

Barbara and I are very sad to hear the news about Brian's passing. He was good man with a heart of gold.  I enjoyed the many encounters with him at work and toasting with the odd drink at the pub, Christmas parties, campfires and after the many softball games.  Brain taught me what it takes to be a good government regulator: to show discretion, kindness and empathy towards people. He was the “go to guy” for Environmental Protection investigations. He was one of the first, if not the first, Conservation Officer who set the stage on regulatory investigation and enforcement outside the traditional COS fish and wildlife duties. He was before his time, a trendsetter for others to follow. Most of all Brian was a good friend during our time in Prince George. Barb and Blake

Margaret. Laury and all family members.  My wife, Cathy and I, wish to pass on our condolences for the loss of your Dad - Brian.  In 1974 I was a recruit Conservation Officer posted in Prince George.  Brian provided me with his vast knowledge, day-to-day work guidance and his fun side.  He will surely be missed by his entire family and the family of Conservation Officers throughout British Columbia, who had worked and had fun times with Brian.

I had the great honour of working with Brian in the Ministry of Environment from 1990 - 93, and enjoyed occasional chance encounters after that. He was a fine officer and blazed new trails in the Conservation Office Service at an important time in BC's history. He has earned his rest and will be well- and long-remembered. Best wishes to family and friends.
