Predeceased by his father Maurice Maurice; his brother Robert Maurice; his sister Dee Maurice; his brother-in-law Richard Martel; his son-in-law Jamie Hansen. Carl was a private man who also deeply valued his close-knit circle of friends and family.
He is survived by his loving children Crystal, Chantal (and her partner Jesse) and Cody (and his wife Kayla); his treasured grandchildren Adrianna, Rhiannon, Tyler, Izaiah, and Silas; his mother Aleda Maurice; sisters Debbie Maurice and Sandy Maurice; niece Robyn Maurice-Klein (and her husband Tony Pedersen); brother-in-law Dean Manning.
Carl will be remembered for his incredible work ethic—devoting over four decades to Dunkley Lumber—his passion for woodworking, his collection of cool tattoos, and the way he showed his love through quiet acts of service. He adored his pets, loved a good home project, and never hesitated to help someone in need (even if he grumbled a bit first).
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 9 at 1:00 pm at Ferndale Community Hall (3595 Upper Fraser Rd), where we will gather to share memories and stories, enjoy music and food, and showcase some of Carl’s amazing woodwork. All who knew and loved Carl are welcome to join us in honoring the life of this one-of-a-kind man.
