lengthy battle with cancer on November 18, 2020 at the age of 67. Debra will be lovingly
remembered by her husband Gary of 38 years, and her children Michael (Brandy), Jody
(Emma), Stacy (Alissa) and Shea. Debra will also be fondly remembered by her 7
grandchildren, Maddison, Josh, Milo, Nolan, Taylor, Reese, Kacie, and her parents Bert (Irene)
Tress and Clara Thompson as well as her brothers and sisters Jim (Linda) Tress, Lorry
Nightingale, Darlene Stewart, Lucy Ogurek and Ken (Dina) Tress. Debbie will remain in the
memories of her various brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family
and dear friends.
Debbie worked in the BC Forest Industry for many years in Golden and Parson and was often
highly involved with fighting BC wild fires. She also worked in Not for Profit Businesses as an
accountant with Canadian Mental Health Association in Prince George and Prince George
Hospice Society. She was extremely involved with fund raising and the staff and clients all
loved her dearly. Debbie was always loving and kind.
Debbie loved to garden and her gardens were simply amazing. She also enjoyed refinishing
furniture. She and Gary worked hard on their homes, painting, renovating and landscaping for
many years and they recently bought a cabin on Cluculz Lake. They enjoyed boating and
fishing and simply relaxing and enjoying the quiet of the lake.
But no garden nor furniture refinishing project brought Debbie the same enjoyment she found
in spending time with her family. In a rare treat in these modern days, Debbie and Gary found
themselves living in the same city as their grown boys and the gift of grandchildren just
minutes away. Debbie delighted in her abundant times spent with her grandchildren, sharing
with them her enduring sense of humour, a trait all who knew her, were treated to. She loved
to share in laughter with all those around her.
