We were saddened to learn of Ted's passing and offer our condolences to his family.

My sincere condolences to the Moffat family. I met Ted 2 years ago when he was being awarded his Golden Hammer from Home Hardware. His warmth,charm and humour instantly became a source of joy to me. He was so proud of his family, and cherished his grandchildren dearly. He was a source of strength to me and always found time to talk with me and make me laugh. He showed great courage,determination and grace through his illness, and I will dearly miss his ever smiling little face. He will forever be my "Little Golden Hammer"

My brother Gordon Blue has informed me of Teds passing. We all grew up in the GREAT NORTH. Your home was just down the Street from our Grandfather's place (Claude Foot)we grew up together way back when." May his journey continue in the hearts of all that loved and respected him"

Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of Ted. I will always remember Ted was my Granddaughter's partner for her very first square dance in Gavin Lake, she though he was a Prince!...and of course, she was right. Ted will be missed by so many in the community.

He will be missed. I moved to PG in June of 1998 and took my friend and realtor's (Noel) advice that if I needed anything to "go see Ted". What a spectacular idea that turned out to be. Ted was gracious, funny, and practical - He assured me I didn't need entire new screens for all my windows, just new screens and that yes, my Blazer did indeed have a plug to use in the cold winter I just needed to pull it out! Vancouverites, what do they know about winter? Ted outfitted my home with appliances, furniture and advice. He kept me out of trouble (mostly) and helped me understand the community of Prince George and how things worked. He helped me guide the community investments on behalf company I worked for.When I moved back to Vancouver we stayed in touch, my appliances still came from the Northern and he really was a solid, wonderful addition to my life. Thank you Ted for your consistency, humour, and practical nature. You will be missed.

My condolences to the Moffatt family on your loss of Teddy, as I always called him. We met in 1950, when I moved to King George V school, and got to know better through years of adventures in Boy Scouts, doing winter camping in the snow at the Moffatt Family place at 6 Mile Lake, going to the World Boy Scout Jamboree, summer camps and many stories.
After school years I left PG, but tried to keep in touch over the years. He was always such a wonderful guy to talk to. About 18 months ago, I was in PG with my wife, who had heard me speak of Teddy many times, and the three of us had a long lunch, after which Sandra said that he was the funniest guy she had ever met.

I spoke to him over Christmas, and he assured me he had the cancer beaten, thus his loss was such a surprise and so sad. Too young, Teddy, too young. I will miss you.

I am so sorry to hear of Ted's passing. He made our shopping trips to Northern Hardware more of a social visit. Ted was especially kind to my mother who insisted on waiting until Christmas Eve to do her shopping.  The event bacame a standing joke between them.  What an ambassador!  Thank you for all your contributions.

My condolences go out to Ted's immediate family and the entire Moffat clan.  Had the pleasure of meeting Ted at PGJS High and then working with him and the family at the hardware store in the 50's.  Great guy, always positive,

I would like to pass on our thoughts and prayers to the Moffat family on the passing of Ted. The Moffat family has always been close to our family with the recollection of many fond memories at Tabor Lake as a young person as well as interacting with Ted at the Northern Hardware during my many years in Prince George. His contribution to the local economy was tremendous and he will certainly be missed by many - a true gentleman to all that had the pleasure of knowing him. Please accept our sincere condolences during this difficult time.

Ted was a huge part of many of our early lives. Having gone through all my public school days with him, I remember well his smile and great sense of humour. 

Heartfelt condolences to all of his family, and to the community of Prince George as a whole.

For the Moffat family and the staff of Northern Hardware we offer our sincere condolences.  We also will miss Ted, his core values, his friendship, honesty and sense of humour.  We will always smile when we sit in our favourite reading chair, we will remember Ted proclaiming in his best quiet voice for all to hear, especially the staff "See I told you that chair would sell with that fabric."

I had a conversation with Ted not that long ago, after I learned of his sickness.  Ted told me he had it beat and was well on his way to recovery.  Of course you would expect nothing but positive from Ted.  I have had the pleasure of having many conversations with Ted over the years; what a character, full of life and ideas, always having that infectious smile.  Not that long ago Ted and I toured Home Hardware's Mennonite vendors in the St. Jacobs area.  Somehow he could relate to everyone.  Home Hardware has lost a great hardware man.  Ted's knowledge and connection to his customers and community is a great example of what Home Hardware trys to emulate.  One of a king, a real likeable character, what a guy.  I had no idea of how he was connected to his community.  He obviously gave very freely of his time and skills.  I am not surprised.  I have a copy of the History of the Moffat clan; what a read.  He was very proud of that history.  The obituary, to a degree illustrated what Ted was all about.  You could have written a book.  We will miss him; he has left his mark.  With sympathy, Ray Gabel

I met Ted and worked in Prince George at the store on the Profitmaster computer system. Our visits at conference or over the phone were always filled with good stories and a lot of laughter. I have thought of him often over the years and offer my deepest condolences to the family and staff at Northern Hardware.  He was as large as life itself and I know he is and will be greatly missed.  My prayers are with you at this time.

Having also been born and raised in Prince George as Ted was, the Moffats and The Northern have been part of my life as long as I can recall. My condolences to all of you, my fond memories sustain you through this difficult time.

Ted was a well respected man in the community. I appreciated his candor in business, if we can't find it, we will order it. His sense of humour always made me laugh. R.I.P. my good friend.

Gloria and Dan,- Ted was a wonderful husband and father and a great man.  I certainly remember him on the sidelines with Gloria supporting Dan while he played football.  I am saddened by his passing but I take heart knowing he has reunited with family who have passed before him and that he is with the Father in eternity.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the entire Moffat family.  As I extend my deepest sympathy, I take time to reflect on my path with Ted, by way of school days, friendship, old time fiddlers events, many jokes, good conversation, and entering "old age".

The terrible loss of a great friend.I went to school with Ted. He was never too busy to sit and chat.A huge loss to P.G. but more so for his Family.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of my dear, lifelong friend.  My prayers and condolences to the Moffat family. God  be with you all now and in the future as you remember Ted, his wonderful smile and all the good times.

He was a man who will be well remembered by all who knew him. We will all miss him, but lets be happy that he is now able to do all the things he so enjoyed.

Ted's passing is a significant loss, both for the community and the Northern Hardware.  My condolences to Gloria, Dan and Kelly - he was gone too soon.  Having grown-up just a few houses down on Laurier Crescent, and babysat Kelly and Dan many years ago, I join you in mourning.
