Elizabeth Brown Anderton

Betty was born in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland to William and Martha Henry on November 23 1923. She served in the Royal Air Force in WWII where she met Derrick, a dashing seaman in the British Navy. Betty and Derrick married on Nov 04 1944. They enjoyed many adventures together, from Manchester England to Bogotá Columbia to Canada. Along the way they had six children, Brenda, Alan and George born in England and Joy, Linda and Brian born in Canada. In 1964 they moved from New Brunswick and settled in Prince George B.C. where they lived out the remainder of their lives.

Betty had a great sense of humor and she loved travelling and reading. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and shopping with her three daughters who are afflicted with the same shopping gene she possessed.

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Derrick, her son Alan, her mother Martha, father William, 9 siblings and her grandson Mickey Anderton.

Betty is survived by her children: Brenda (Grahame) Hutchinson of Sydney Australia, George (Lynn) Anderton of Victoria, Joy (Patrick) Thomas of Toronto, Linda (Paul) Robison of Prince George and Brian (Sherrie) Anderton of Edmonton. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Michael, Leslie, Keenan, Terry, Bailey, Jane, Nicole, Sara, Ryan, Jennifer, Sean, Scott and Ashleigh. Betty was a very proud great-grandmother to Eileithyia, Nicholas, Noah, Christopher, Fox, Sadie, Leif, Topher, Hayden, Brea, Daelyn, Sam, Anna, Veyda and Quinn.

A private family service was held in Prince George on August 9th.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Nadeem and the many caring nurses at the Prince George Regional Hospital and to the Prince George Hospice for their loving support in her final days.
