George Carl Huck

December 5, 1931 – April 19, 2022
Obituary of George Carl Huck
IN THE CARE OF

Fraserview Crematorium & Fraserview Crematorium – Cemetery Niches

Dad was born in Boring, Oregon December 5th, 1931. He grew up a farm boy. He was drafted into the military because of the Korean War. He was in the Navy and on the ship USS Chara, he served for 2 years.

His time in Korea really messed with him mentally as it does with most soldiers. He dealt with the horror of that for the rest of his life but was proud to serve his country, but when he needed his country, they told him to suck it up and be a man, forget it and move on. Today they treat PTSD but back then they closed their eyes to the effects of war on soldiers.

When he was discharged from the Navy, he married Patricia Jean Gehrts on March 1st, 1952. He would often share how mom held him together through the sleepless nights of terrible nightmares from his time served. They would drive for hours until he was settled enough to rest.

He worked many jobs and always mastered them all from logger, dairy herdsman, millwright, maintenance supervisor, and security guard.

George and Pat were married 66 years and had four children, three boys and one girl. They had fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; as well as many others who call him grampa.

He is predeceased by his wife Patricia Huck; both parents Herb and Edith Huck; brother and sister–in-law Ken and Barb Huck; his wife's mother and father Ernest and Ruth Gehrts; sisters-in-law and spouses Peggy and Orville Mahn, Sharon and Jerry Case, Eloyce and Jerry Mills; brother-in-law Ernest Gehrts Jr.; daughter-in-law Vicki Huck and four grandchildren Kyle, Tasha, Patricia and Kyle.

He will be sadly missed by his children Randy and Crystal Huck, Marty Thomas, Jon and JoAnn Huck and Doug Huck & Becky Butler; grandchildren TJ and Amy, Kaitlin, David and Amber, Kati and Dennis, Kevin and Melissa, Michael and Elizabeth, Emily, Jessie and David, Leah and James, Tabitha, Erica; great grandkids Joshua, Samuel, Caydin, Etta-Rae, Alexander, Archer, Daekoda, Jaykob, Zayden, Bellamy, Mika, Laura, Logan, Jackson, Riley, Autumn, Logan, Gavin, Quinnlan and Mason. As well as many friends and other relatives.

He loved his Lord Jesus with all his heart. He always longed to go be with Him and mom. Was finally granted his wish on April 19, 2022 at 3 am at the Rotary Hospice House in Prince George, BC.
