Alvin Richardson also known as AR, age 81, of MacKenzie, British Columbia, passed away after a brief stay at the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society on the morning of Tuesday, May 13th, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving children.
After a long battle with COPD, cancer and his stroke in February 2023, Dad is no longer suffering and at peace.
Although we are grieving the loss of our Dad, we are trying to remember the good days and Dad’s love for his family and friends.
A Celebration of Dad’s Life will be held in Mackenzie on Saturday, July 5th starting at the Mackenzie Legion at 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (service) with a drop in to follow at 3:00 PM at the Mackenzie Elks Lodge (celebration).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mackenzie Elks Lodge No.547 Children’s fund or the Mackenzie Autumn Lodge Society would be appreciated.
There are many people we would like to thank for their compassion and care of our Dad, in particular; Dr. Hampole, Dr. Mackenzie, Dad’s Home Support Aides (Wanda, Ashley, Marie and Lisa) and Home Support Team Lead Teresa. As well, thank you to Health Service Administrator Pam for assisting with arranging respite care for Dad when it was required. As well, special thanks to Dad’s private care/companions Derm Caul and Brenda Johnstone. Each of you were special to Dad and his children in one way or another.
Thank you to the remaining Northern Interior Health employees that in one way or another had an interaction with Dad or our family.
Lastly, thank you to the staff at the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society and Dr. Reddy for making Dad’s final days and journey as comfortable as could be. Thank you to the Hospice volunteer (Jacquie) for making Dad his final birthday cake, what a special cake that was, we will never forget your thoughtfulness.
Dad you will be forever loved and never forgotten. This is not goodbye, we will see you again when you welcome us with open arms.
