It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kimberly Anne Thornton, who left this world on July 30, 2024, in Prince George, BC. Born on July 6, 1972, in the serene town of Stephenville, Newfoundland, Kim's journey through life was marked by a vibrant spirit and a remarkable capacity to touch the lives of everyone she encountered. Kimberly's life was an embodiment of love, laughter, and undying resilience.
The daughter of Margaret Benoit adopted to Eva Thornton and David Thornton, who preceded her in death, and Eva Thornton, who survives her, Kim always treasured the importance of family. She is survived by her loving children Mitchel Thornton, Darian Thornton, Audrionna Thornton. Her life was further enriched by her dear siblings Cordelia Harding, Aaron Jesso, Andy Jesso, Kurt Thornton, and Kevin Thornton, and her cherished grandchildren Javion Thornton, Tianna Andrews, and Caleb Hedekar.
Kimberly was a woman of many talents and interests, having pursued education in a Special Needs Teachers Assistant course at MTI and Basic Security Training. Her diverse hobbies ranged from the thrill of adventure to the calming art of horticulture, encompassing everything from A to Z. These pursuits were a testament to her boundless curiosity and zest for life. Known for her radiant smile and joyful humor, Kim had an extraordinary ability to light up any room. Her personality was one of the biggest and brightest, and she had a natural gift for making others feel loved and valued. Even amid her own struggles, she was always the first to offer a helping hand, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to those around her.
Alright who’s bringing the barbecue sauce! Kim's memory will be honored as a celebration of life held at Gwynne Vaughan Park in Chilliwack, BC, on July 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
