Lloyd Bercier

Lloyd Moise Bercier August 6, 1927- September 9,2012 Lloyd Bercier passed away comfortably in the early evening of Sunday, September 9th at the age of 85. He was a wonderful father to myself, Leon Bercier, and stepsons Gordon and Robert MacMillan. He was a loving, proud grandfather. He was also a loyal and providing husband to my mother Lillian MacMillan, who was taken much too early from us 27 years ago. He grew up in Manitoba where he learned to hunt at an early age to provide food and to make money selling the pelts. A skill that he used right through till his late 70's, and an experience he also shared with the rest of the family. When he wasn't working hard at Lakeland Mill (of 21 years) he was working hard at home, working is what he did. He was, for lack of a better term, a man. He was a jack of all trades, he was a carpenter, a plumber, an electrician, a mechanic, he was a knife maker, and a woodsman. He loved to hunt, and fish, and go camping. He was very comfortable in the woods. Even while out camping, he was usually the one doing all the work to set up the camp. He loved to play pool, and play guitar, and sing. He loved his Hank Williams, and Johnny Cash. He really enjoyed talking to people, and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed it. He wasn't very educated in terms of schooling, but his knowledge in life well made up for it. He really had a way to make people smile and I/we will miss his smile and presence. Goodbye, I love you Dad. Lakewood First Memorial Funeral Home in care of arrangements - 250-562-5915
