He is predeceased by his parents Walter and Elsie Butler; his sisters Doris Johnson and Deanna Cummings, and his wife Sandy.
He is leaving behind his daughter Tracy (Lance) and his son Terry (Amanda) as well as his granddaughters Faith (Cody), Keely (Stephen), and Ashlyn.
Lyle will be well remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins. He will likewise be missed by many friends of the trucking industry and hockey arenas, his doctor and the staff of Gateway Lodge.
Lyle grew up in Saskatchewan where he learned to drive at 15 years old. He played hockey and baseball, raced cars, and fixed vehicles with his dad. He moved to BC with his wife Sandy and young daughter Tracy. A couple of years later, his son Terry was born. Lyle provided for his family by driving truck in the various aspects of the trucking industry. He also loved watching the Toronto Blue Jays and reading western or crime novels.
Lyle requested a small private service before being placed in the mausoleum with his wife.
