Melissa was born in Comox, BC on September 4, 1945 and grew up in Courtenay, BC.
She loved gardening as she tended to her flowers, reading, connecting with friends and family, classical music, biography writing, camping with her motorhome group, and she just recently discovered her love for watercolour painting.
Melissa is survived by her husband Edward, her children Carrie (Dave) and Anne, her grandchildren Rezso (Alyssa), Garrett (Daniela), Gillian (Isaac), Hunter, and Gyongyi, and her great-grandchildren Boe and Millie.
She was predeceased by her son James (Jamie).
A service of remembrance for Melissa will be held on Friday January 26, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Assman’s Funeral Chapel. There will be a reception with tea and snacks following the service at 3:00 pm at College Heights Baptist Church.
