Very sorry to hear fo hear of cousin Mike. Way back in the early 60’s my folks would travel up to Campbelton  from Fredericton,NB. Mike and I were bunk mates and we shared a bedroom with gramps, my mom Phylis’s dad. Every night we faced the task of taking turns rubbing this nasty “horse liniment” on gramps back and shoulders. He would turn over, light a smoke, and tell Mike and I great stories about hunting and fishing . Good times! 

I first met Mike on the day of my wedding to his cousin Julie Mosher.  He was our MC . I had a short interview with him prior to the service because obviously needed some info on me. Julie and Mike grew up together and were quite close . He did a spectacular job as MC. A few years ago Julie , myself and our young daughter spent some time in Prince George with him and  Cheryl. It was a great visit. My condolences to Cheryl and family

I was deeply saddened by the news of Mike's passing. I had the privilege of working with Mike for all of his years at CKPG Radio & TV.  Mike was a newsman's newsman. No bullshit, no hyperbole, no assumptions ... just facts, professionally composed and delivered.  I am an old-school guy, who respects journalists and their mission to provide honest, balanced reporting.  Mike never disappointed.  Beyond being a work-mate though, Mike was also a friend. Together, we drained many a pint.  A good man who left us too early.  I extend my heartfelt condolences to his lovely wife Cheryl and his son Brent.

I've known Mike since the mid 60's. He lived at 8 king and I live at 6king. I remember in the summer asking me if I would like to go over and have lunch with his mom and grandfather. I asked my mom and everything was fine, so I just walked around the fence and to the back door.  We also got to be very good friends like sister and brother and up till 70's we exchanged gifts at Christmas.  Later on lost touch with him till I ran into him mom at the nursing home and she kept me up dated. At some point  and time she told me Mike was suppose to make a visit. To this day I still wish I had gone back to find out if he did come home.  
To Cheryl and Brent,  never had the pleasure to meet either of you .  Sending my sincere condolence to both of you.

Mike and I became lifelong forever friends the first hour of the first day of the first grade in Campbellton NB.  We’d often take hours to get home after school, play-fighting and wrestling along the way.  Often passersby would try to intervene not realizing it was horseplay. The bruises and laughter were very real and very special.   Mike had a quick wit which words cannot do justice too. Many a teacher failed to stay mad at Mike as he’d have them laughing within minutes.   The years roll by and people lose touch.  I will truly miss my old friend. Rest in Peace. 

I was disheartened to hear of my old friends recent passing. Mike and I go back to the 1970`s when we and many other small town boys often ran afoul of our parents and teachers. The late nights at CKNB were often the cause for many missed morning classes but despite his sometimes-limited attendance, Mike`s brilliance was obvious and recognized by all including the irritated teachers.
      Mikes quick -wit developed at a very young age. Whether it was lasting nicknames he so cleverly developed, the impeccable impersonations of his neighbors or the ability by a simple facial expression to bring a silent clasroom to contagious laughter his presence was one that will offer many great memories.
  Four decades have somehow escaped since we last spoke and when I saw the CKPG video it put a lump in my throat, however, that quickly turned to a melancholy smile when I saw the aged footage and heard the familiar voice.
  To Brent who I last saw as a boy in Campbellton when you drove in the antique truck and to Cheryl who I have not had the good fortune to meet please accept my deepest sympathies and always cherish the good times.

I have so many memories of my friend and former boss.  Mike was a great newsman and I learned a lot working with him.   He instilled in me the need to make sure we were working hard but having fun while we were at it.  We shared a lot of laughs and did a lot of good work in that newsroom.   I hadn't been in touch in recent years but will always have fond memories of my time with Mike at CKPG, from 1982 to 85.  I'm glad I was able to be there the night he was honoured by RTDNA with his well deserved Lifetime Achievement Award.  My sincere condolences to Cheryl and Brent, and Mike's family in New Brunswick.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Mike.  We had not been in touch for several years but I will always remember the times that we shared at BN/CP and RTDNA meetings and conferences.  He was a proud broadcaster dedicated to his craft and mentored many a greenhorn in his role as a manager.

Many many good and hilarious times with the Big Bud back in the Wild West days in the 80’s at CKPG. A true and good friend who left a lasting impact on my life. I will sorely miss him.  My deepest condolences to Cheryl and his son Brent.
