

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Ranjit Singh Ranu. Ranjit had recently turned 60 years old before he departed on September 28, 2023. His memories will forever live in the hearts of his family and friends as he leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and spontaneity.
Born on August 15, 1963 in Punjab, India, Ranjit immigrated with his parents and three sisters to Canada t the age of 12, settling in Prince George, BC. Ranjit later raised four children with his wife of 36 years. He worked as a millwright with Canfor for 37 years; his experience was often sought after to solve difficult mechanical issues.
Ranjit was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend. His quick wit and playful nature brought laughter to everyone around him. Ranjit was known for his natural athleticism, which contributed to his success in wrestling, soccer, and other recreational sports during his high-school years. He spent his recent retirement years continuing to perfect his soccer skills on the field and leaving with an enviable handicap in golf. His love for team sports was lifelong as he made many friends on the soccer pitch or playing a round of golf. He also enjoyed spending time with family, cooking on the barbeque, watching nature documentaries, and creating home videos.
Throughout his life, Ranjit exemplified the value of living peacefully without regret. Always thinking of others first, Ranjit touched the lives of many through his acts of kindness and generosity. His departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us in our journey through life.
Rest in peace, dear Ranjit. You will be deeply missed and forever loved by us all.
