Sandy came into our home twice and each time she brought a ray of sunshine and left it in our hearts. Her warmth and kindness stay with us to this day. Surely she is smiling down on us as she dances with the Angels. We love and miss her dearly.

Sandy always welcomed me into their home as a teenager where we would bake, laugh, sing and watch movies. So sorry to hear of her passing.

They say that it's not how much time you spend with a person that's that's important, but how you spend that time. 
When Frank and I heard of Sandy's passing, we realized that we'd only met her in person twice and for only a few days each time.  The first was she and Terry's trip east to visit his childhood places.  The second was in 1995 when we travelled west for a Deacon family reunion 1st of July weekend in Peace River Alberta - the highlight of which was Sandy and I in their van with our four girls, driving the streets of town, stopping random people to ask where we could find a beer store all the while roaring with laughter (the boys wanted the beer desperately, but weren't about to go looking for it themselves). The following day, Sandy and Terry left for home, but went via Whitecourt, Alberta (definitely he long way around), where Frank and I and our girls  were staying with my brother Bob and his family  We spent an outstanding afternoon and evening, first at the firepit then play a cut throat game of cards til the wee hours of the morning, again with much laughter- and a few adult beverages. As a result, Sandy wearily took the van keys the next morning and took the wheel for the drive home with Terry dozing in the passenger seat .

Somehow, over the next 25 years or so, our family continued to feel as close to Terry and Sandy and their family across the country as we did that weekend.

Family was incredibly important to Sandy - her own, of course, but also those more distant. When we had an  80th birthday party for my Dad in 2009 , it was she who told Terry that he had to come east or he'd regret it later. This, despite what I'm sure was her very real  concern about the trip while he was still in the last stages of his cancer treatment. Terry (and Cori Lynn) made that weekend even more special, thanks to her.

Sandy was a lovely lady in every way, and Frank and I and our girls are so glad to have known her.  She will be missed.  

Oh my heart is with all of you.. I’ll never forget Sandy’s kindness and love when we were up there for my graduation from UNBC. She opened her home to all of my friends and was such a gracious host. I remember fun times seeing her in Nelson visiting Cheryl and Darrell. I think she was one of the craftiest  people I knew!!! She was always warm and kind…Wish I was there.. with you all in spirit.. love C&R

Terry and Sandy came  to visit us here in Florida twice  over the span of the last twenty years, and we shall never forget them, and both visits. Since Terry's Dad passed. Terry has been more like a younger brother to me, and to finally get to meet sweet Sandy was a precious event. She came to our home fully equipped with her tablet full of pictures of grandkids, family, pets, and their beautiful home and homesite. She will remain forever in our memories and we will never forget her smile, and how much she loved her Family. RIP dearest lady.
