Sandra Joan Griffiths

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Sandra *Joan* Griffiths , age 84, of Prince George, British Columbia announces her sudden passing on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Prince George Hospice.

Joan was born in Portage LaPraire on June 16, 1940, the first daughter of Alex and Mildred Vandrick. The young family made their way to Cultus Lake, BC where Joan’s lifetime love of lakes, rivers and beaches began.

She loved to swim, camp and vacation at the water's edge. Most recently enjoying a beach at her favorite destination of Hawaii. Joan and Kathleen spent 10 days on Waikiki beach in March of 2024 and she was planning on attending the Vandrick Family reunion on Vancouver Island in summer of 2025

Joan was a dearly loved partner, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Left to mourn her loss her partner, Daniel Clay and his family. Her children; Robin (Deb), Kathleen and Sherralynne. Her Grandchildren; Nicky (Kyle), Travis, Kurtis, Joe and Ben(Lexie). Her Great Grandchildren to whom she always felt blessed to have in her life; Savannah, Bella, Sophia and Christian. Her sisters Judy, Mary-Jane, Bev and their families.

Joan’s family would like to thank all those who have reached out to provide words of comfort and support at this difficult time. A special thank you to Prince George Hospice and the amazing staff that treated her with such kindness and respect, keeping her comfortable and at peace in her final days.

There will be no service at Joans’ request, but the family may arrange a gathering of friends and family at a time and place yet to be determined.
