

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of SELIMIR DJURIC , (b. 1931 in Koceljevo, Serbia) passed away in Prince George on January 28th, 2014. In 1956 Selimir immigrated to Canada from the former Yugoslavia; in 1967, he moved to Prince George where he began a 25 year career as a millwright with Canfor and where he happily made a home for his growing family. Selimir was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, a proud Canadian, an avid outdoorsman and a passionate man who loved good food and good company. He is predeceased by his wife, Josefa (1980) and survived by his son Branko (Sandy); daughters, Christina (Kirk) Look and Anna McLauchlan and grandchildren, Sarah, Graham, Benjamin, Alexander, Ethan, Jorja and Thomas. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 12:00-2:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm at Assman's Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Prince George Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Wildlife Federation or the Canadian Diabetes Association. -
