Senaka was born in Panadura, Sri Lanka, to Leslie and Irene Malleappah. He was one of six siblings. In the early 1970s, Senaka left Sri Lanka for Hamburg, Germany--eventually finding his way to Vancouver and settling in Squamish, B.C. There he worked for 40 years as a heavy-duty mechanic for BC Rail (now CN).
Senaka volunteered for many charities and loved helping people. He will be remembered for his deep love for his family and friends. He enjoyed good food, drinks and conversation--but especially making those around him happy.
Senaka is survived by his wife Sophie Malleappah; his daughters Jennifer Malleappah and Sharon Malleappah (Veronica Casey); his granddaughter Valentina; her father Dustin Pierini; along with many friends and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prince George Rotary Hospice House in Senaka’s name.
Respected and loved by all. We love you, Daddy.
