Florence Eleanor Hendricks, 87, of Vivian, WV, passed from this life and was ushered by Angels into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 5, 2019.
Flo was a 1949 graduate of Welch High School and was a member of the Vivian Presbyterian Church.
Florence was a beloved sister, aunt, and friend and was lovingly known as “Flo” by those who knew her.
Born November 1, 1931 in Vivian, WV, she was the daughter of the late Floyd B. and Onibet Hendricks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred E. Hardee and Lucille “Boots” Williams.
Survivors include her two brothers, Floyd “Cooney” Hendricks, Jr. of Vivian, WV and James Hendricks and wife, Eva of Vivian, WV; three sisters, Phyllis “Crickett” Tibbs of Glenwood Park Retirement Village, Patty Walker of Collinsville, VA, and Sibby Ann Turner of Collinsville, VA; she is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly.
Florence was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving her country for over 20 years in nursing, retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class.
Flo was known for her fun-loving ways and her generous spirit. She went above and beyond to help others.
Her nieces and nephews have many fond memories of all the wonderful times they shared with her. Although she never married and had children of her own, she was like a “mother” to many.
Services to celebrate the life of Florence Eleanor Hendricks will be conducted on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 2:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home, Princeton with Rev. Gerald Roberts officiating. Florence will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may gather with the family from 1:00PM until time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
