
Jerry Calvin Mills, Sr. of Ryan Village, Princeton, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Veterans Hospital in Beckley. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Jerry was born September 22, 1935 in Princeton, WV. He was a United States Veteran serving his country in the Marine Corps. He was a retired business owner of the Mills Market, Princeton. He enjoyed WVU Mountaineers, western movies, and was great talking about politics.
Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hazel Jane White Hubbard Mills an infant daughter, Theresa Mills, a beloved son, Jerry Calvin Mills, Jr formerly of Princeton. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Wather Dewey Mills and Agnes Gray Neal of Princeton; brothers, W.D. “Buddy” Mills, James “Corky” Mills, Charles Jackson “Jack” Mills, Sr., William “Buddy” Mills and a sister, Gail Mills Hutchens.
The survivors include a granddaughter, Jaclyn Whittaker; great-grandson, Jace Coleman; six step-children (children), James P. Hubbard, David R. Hubbard, both of Bluefield, WV, Ruby A. Joyner of Youngsville, NC, Kathleen Lirette of Houma, LA, Imogene Terry of Princeton, WV and Maxine L. Price of Bluefield, VA and their families; nephews, Sonny Mills of Princeton, WV, Bobby Mills of Princeton, WV, Charles Jackson Mills, Jr. of Matoaka, WV, Ralph Dewey Mills of Bluefield, WV, and Bram Reed, Jr. of Salem, VA; nieces, Brenda Mills Marshall of Princeton, Virginia Mills Lane of Kegley, WV, Faith Annette Hare Murphy of Roanoke, VA, and Angie Tilley of Oak Hill, WV; a special friend, Jerel Dean Makeham.
In keeping with Jerry’s request a graveside service will Military Honors will be conducted 2:00PM Friday, November 18, 2016 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton in the Garden of the Good Shepherd.
