Kelsia B Bond

Born in Bluefield on March 29 1932, she was the daughter of the late Kelly Banner and Annie Shelton Banner.

She was a member of the first graduating class of Genoa Park Central High School, a graduate of Bluefield State College, and an art teacher for the Isle of Wight County Board of Education in Virginia. After retiring from teaching she became a professional seamstress. She was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Bluefield, WV.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd E. Bond and one sister Ollie Scurlock.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter; Elesia Jeffries and husband Bill of Bluefield; one son, Curtis Bond and wife Michelle of Bluefield; five grandchildren, James, Edward and Isaac Bond, Cherish Jeffries and special grandchild Jody Jeffries; one sister, Melba McMillan and husband Nelson of MD and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held January 30, 2012, Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Palmer officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
