Lowell J. Basham

Lowell J. Basham, 75, of Princeton, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016.

Born April 12, 1941 in Lashmeet, WV; he was a son of the late Melvin Clyde and Lyda Hurst Basham.

Lowell loved trout fishing, traveling, watching his son race, he was a true animal lover with a passion for dogs. Lowell was a member of the Rich Creek Baptist Church and served his country proudly in the United States Navy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, Tom, Bob, James, and Alfred Basham and a sister, Mary Holt.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley Basham; two sons, Lowell Anthony Basham and wife, Sandra of Princeton and Mark Steven Basham and wife, Tami of Princeton; a daughter, Latricia Kinsey and husband, George of Auburn, IN; three grandchildren, Justin Basham of Green Valley, Joshua Basham and wife, Lynsey of Gardner, and Aaron Basham of Princeton; two great grandchildren, Leland Basham and Alivia Basham; four step-grandchildren, Brendon Boyles of Princeton, Shannon Boyles and husband, Todd of Princeton, Michael Wilson and wife, Heather of Princeton, step-great-grandchild, Kayla Clowers and husband, Brian of Montcolm; a step-great-great granddaughter, Mariah Clowers; brothers, Eldridge Basham and wife, Pearl of Syria, VA, Luther Basham and wife, Pam of Camp Creek, and Gary Basham and wife, Maria of Green Valley; and his beloved dog, Luke.

Services to celebrate the life of Lowell J. Basham will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Roselawn Funeral Home, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton with Pastor Ralph Calfee officiating. Following the services Lowell will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.

Friends may gather with the family from 6:00PM until 9:00PM Monday, August 22, 2016 at the funeral home.
