Mary Jane Morris Brown

Born April 18, 1933 in Horse Shoe, WV, she was the daughter of the late Anise and Nellie (Gray) Morris. She was the former owner of Poe’s Market in Bluewell, WV and was also a cook on the River Boat in Charleston, WV.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husband John Brown and brother Robert Morris. Left to cherish her memory are sons Arlis Dempsey and wife Sally, Arnold Dempsey and wife Glenna and Darrel Poe and wife Rita, all of Bluewell, WV. Also, step-daughter Dona Graham of Tennessee; sisters Eva Duncan of Village, Fl; Betty Nottingham of Dayton, OH and Shirley Lewis of Fayetteville, WV.; brothers Leonard Morris of Oak Hill, WV, Thur L. Morris of Cleveland, OH and Junior Morris of Oak Hill, WV. Six grandchildren – Cecil Dempsey, Robert Dempsey, Sammy Dempsey and Tonya Dempsey Akers; Darrell Poe, Jr. and Freddie Poe and 16 Great-Grandchildren. She also leaves behind two special friends – Reba Whitt and Sharon Sizemore.

Funeral services for Mary will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel, 450 Courthouse Rd., Princeton, WV with Reverend Barry Wright officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
