Robert “Bob” Holmes, 70, of Princeton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 30, 2018.
Bob was born March 13, 1948 in Franklin, PA. He was a son of Richard Alfred Holmes of Franklin, PA and the late Maxine Elizabeth Sechler Holmes.
Bob was a loving husband, father, and was devoted to his family. He loved hunting, fishing, and canoeing. He served his country proudly in the United States Army, he attended and graduated from Franklin High School, Franklin, PA, Penn State, and West Virginia Tech; he worked for the Pentree and Thrasher group for 29 years until his retirement on May 1, 2014.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by aunt and uncle, Robert and Martha Holmes and uncle, Dean Sechler.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Nancy Floyd Holmes; two sons, Jonathan R. Holmes and wife, MaVilla of Roanoke, VA and James Holmes of Princeton; his father, Richard A. Holmes; a sister, Ellen L. Robbins and husband, Richard of Greenville, PA; a brother, Gary R. Holmes of Franklin, PA; several extended family members and friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Robert “Bob” Holmes will be held 1:00PM Monday, May 7, 2018 at Roselawn Funeral Home, with Pastor A.A. Ross officiating. Following the services Bob will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may gather with the family from 12:00 PM until time of the service, Monday at the funeral home.
