

Born November 8, 1924 in Bastian, VA, he was the son of the late George Robert Worrell and Icie (Lambert) Worrell. Ulus was a dock worker for Mason Dixon Freight Lines. He was a member of the 98th Bomb Group having faithfully served his country with the US Air Force. He served in World War II and the Korean War in China, India and Japan. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Betty Jo (Taylor) Worrell, sons U.D. Worrell, Jr. of CA and Keith D. Worrell and wife Karen of Princeton, WV. Also, grandchildren Lindsey Worrell Walker and her husband JR.; Michael Keith Worrell of Princeton, WV. ; two great-grandchildren and sisters Norma Worrell Pillow and husband Richard of Columbia, SC and Louise Milford and husband James of Bluefield, WV.
Funeral services for Ulus will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton, WV with Chaplin Paul Bricker officiating. Visitation for friends and family will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Family, friends and neighbors will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Pritchard, Allen Burton, Willie Barron and Stan Taylor.
Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mercer County Veterans Council will conduct graveside rites. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Bible in the Schools, Teen Challenge or a charity of your choice.
