Vernon Lessel "Ghost" Bailey

Ghost was born on June 30, 1942 in Beckley West Virginia to the late Vernon Lester and Vera Eloise Bailey. He was raised with two loving sisters, Iris Diane (Russell) and Betty Shirl (Simon). He graduated from Welch High school in 1960. He served our country as an MP in United States Airforce. He was a member of the American Legion Post 8, 40 & 8 Voituree Local # 1171, a Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of West Virginia McDowell Lodge No 112 and a member of the UMWA. Ghost retired from years of service to Eastern Associates Coal Company working at Keystone Mine # 1.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty and one granddaughter LaDonna Yvonne Tuell.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Coffey Bailey, his sister Iris and her husband James Russell, daughters and their spouses, Janet and Jose McHerron, Vera and Tim Tuell, Donna and Danny Deskins Jr. and Loretta and Ronnie Akins. He is survived by 5 grandchildren Krystal Tuell, Tiffany (Ronnie) Walters, Danny Deskins III, Timothy Tuell II and Dillon Akins. One great grandson Brandon Walters.

Services to honor his life will be held on Tuesday January 5th with visitation beginning at 1 and services to follow at 2 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Princeton. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ghost’s life.
