Although his home was Central Oregon, Cody was a man of the world and wanted to experience everything it had to offer. Cody passed on Tuesday April 24, 2012 in West Seattle Washington at the age of 26 years old.
Cody was born October 7, 1985, in Bend, Oregon, to Cindy and Gale Brockett. At the age of three Cody was directing his father and older brother on the drill rig, suffice it to say it became known that Cody was a fearless leader and would accomplish anything and everything he set his mind to, he was a dreamer and a doer all at the same time, a quality not often found in congruity. Cody graduated from Crook County High School in 2004 when he moved on to graduate with honors and a Bachelors degree in both Human Resource Management and Business Management from Portland State University.
When approaching a swimming pool, most test out the water, wade their toes, and slowly dip in; then there are those who go at it in a running cannon ball; this was how Cody experienced life, and so it ensued with his work and hobbies. For most the project of building a bed and chest is something unfathomable, to Cody, an adventure and a way to honor his brother’s marriage. In addition to wood working, Cody was proud of his bartending skills, he was Advertising Manager of his college newspaper, Vice President of National Sales for New West Marketing and Clear Internet, and a fierce Sales Representative for several businesses… simultaneously. He played just as hard as he worked, soccer player, hiker, anything outdoors, guitar player, but his voices will live in infamy, he provided comedic relief for everyone around him, pulling from some of his favorite comedians, Jim Gaffigan, Pablo Francisco, Bill Cosby and Daniel Tosh.
Cody learned a deep faith in his Lord as a member of the Powell Butte Christian Church, an extension of the Brockett family; therefore the feeling of peace that Cody’s spirit is in Heaven is overwhelming.
Cody is survived by his wife, Rachel Brockett, mother and father, Cindy and Gale Brockett, and brother and sister in law, Scotty and Jenny Brockett.
The family would also like to thank all of those who have sent condolences, especially the strength and prayers from our Powell Butte Church Family; it is greatly appreciated as we grieve the loss of a magnificent man.
