My first memory of Phyllis was when I answered the front door to this beautiful,elegant looking lady who introduced herself as one of my new friends and my mom's hospice volunteer. My mom had just been diagnosed with terminal breast and lung cancer and given just weeks to live. Here i was, a young mom with 5 kids, one of them a new baby and feeling very overwhelmed. Phyllis came into our lives and quickly became one of my moms dearset friends. Mom surprised us all by living for nearly 2 more years and in that time ,Phyllis became like a part of our family. Even when we moved to La Pine she drove down 1-2 times a week to be with mom and give me a brief respite to run errands and catch up on various things. My daughter Amanda called her nana Phyllis and many is the time I would come home and find her curled up in Phyllis lap sound asleep. Even after mom passed we stayed in touch over the years. She was a wonderful sweet spirit and one gutsy lady. My family is forever grateful to her for her kindness and we extend to you,her family, our deepest sympathy!

Phyllis was my parents' next-door neighbor on Jumping Grass Lane and a wonderful friend as well. Every Sunday she would drop by and leave a copy of her pastor's message to bless my mom. She continued doing this for my stepdad after Mom's passing. Phyllis was an amazing lady and brought inspiration and joy to others. May memories of her be precious and give you comfort.

Phyllis was the epitome of being a lady. Elegant, well spoken, always encouraging. Then she would drop a one liner that would knock my socks off! Her sense of humor was delightful, and the joy she received from making others laugh carried her over the rough patches. This is the lesson that I learned from Phyllis. I will miss her.

Phyllis was like a second Mom to many of us...her daughter's friends.  She was truly a remarkable women and possessed both an extremely quick wit and an awesome sense of humor.  She was meticulous in her dress and the way she looked and carried herself.  She was not only a hoot, but a joy to be around.  She will be missed by all of us.  I am so glad her illness is behind her and she can be happy once more, with no pain or sadness...in our precious Lord's hands!!  She was truly one of a kind that Phyllis......We will miss her!

I met Phyllis at homeowner's association meetings for the condo in Bend in 1992.  After I married my neighbor Pauline's son, I have grown to know Phyllis both as a friend and thru Pauline's tales.  Phyllis was a hoot, she always had fun jokes to exchange with Paul and was a dear friend to Pauline for so many years.  Phyllis will be missed and not forgotten.

I will cherish the life Phyllis led.  It was full, optimistic, humorous, and filled with love for the human condition.  I have been blessed with her in my life and will reflect often on her smile, laugh, and love for life.  Thanks are to simple and to shallow for what you added to my life.

As you would say Phyllis...This is your favorite nephew...your only nephew...Love you always -

You were one of a kind Dear Phyllis and I savor the memories of our brief time together. May you be playing golf, eating licorice and driving those little doggies up to Pendleton!

I shall miss you...your jokes and your laughter and I cherished our time together at the Oregon beach with Bev and Pauline. You have and always will be a class act.

I met Phyllis as she began to live with ALS. She just seemed to simply make space for the disease and continue on fully being the great woman that has been described in her obituary.  I admire her very much and it was a gift to me to know her for a short period of time.  My condolences to her family (including Coco).  I know you must miss such a lovely lady.
