Shirley Joyce Goodrich

Funeral services will be held on Friday March 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Prineville Funeral Home. Charley Hughbanks will officiate. Committal will follow at Juniper Haven Cemetery, Prineville, Oregon.

Shirley was born in St. Genevieve, Missouri on October 31, 1933 to Joseph F. and Frona R. (Smith) Smallen. She moved to California with her parents at the age of 9, and attended schools in Hawthorne, California. She graduated from Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California with the class of 1951.

Shirley married Wayne Hisle in Hawthorne, California on December 11, 1951.

They moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where she worked for William-Dwyer Insurance under the Real Estate Division. Then back to Hawthorne California in 1953 where she worked for Northrop Aircraft for 8 years, then McDonald Douglas. In 1976 she moved to Prineville and worked for the City of Prineville Railway from 1976 – 1980. Then she worked for the U.S. Forest Service from 1980 to 1995.

Shirley later married Robert R. Goodrich in Prineville on April 14, 1991.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Prineville.

Shirley enjoyed dancing, bowling, crafts, fishing and gardening.

Shirley is survived by her son; Michael Wayne Hisle of Prineville, Oregon, and Keith Hisle of Springfield, Virginia, daughters; Joyce Carter of Monroe, Washington, and Sandra Young of Umatilla, Oregon. Brothers; Dennis F. Smallen of California, and James D. Smallen of Las Vegas, Nevada. Sister; Janet Hangebrauk of Las Vegas, Nevada and six grandchildren Denise Carter, Kristi Young, Julie Young, Bret Hisle, Amber Hisle, Eric Hisle, and two great grandchildren Carter Greene and Brady Hugie.

She was preceded in death by parents, 1st husband Wayne Hisle (12-18-88), and an infant son.
