Agatha A. Carey

ProvidenceAgatha A. (McLaughlin) Carey, 87, of Grosvenor Avenue, passed away Friday surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph Carey and James B. Murphy. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Serena (Almon) McLaughlin. Agatha is survived by her children : Francis J. Murphy, James B. Murphy, Jr., William H. Murphy, Theresa M. Noonan, Margaret A. Wood, and Mary M. DiLibero. She was the mother of the late Timothy P. Murphy. She also leaves her sister Elizabeth Mari, and was predeceased by her siblings, Mary, Henry, Joseph, Anna, Jane, Serena, Edward, Theresa and James; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She worked at the Microbiology Lab at Rhode Island Hospital for many years until she retired. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church Academy Ave, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours, Monday, 4-7 pm.
