Alibrando J. Bachini age 80, died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Ali was born in Lucca, Italy, the youngest of three children of the late Celestino and Mafalda (Meconi) Bachini.
After immigrating to America in 1947 as an infant with his parents, sister Carla and brother Edo, he built a life in the Bronx, New York where he raised his sons and worked as a teamster in the trucking industry ultimately retiring in 2007. Ali served in the army but rarely discussed his service time.
Although not kicking and screaming, Ali left the Bronx after 71 years in December of 2019, to move to Providence, Rhode Island to live the remainder of his life with close cousins late Olinto Bachini and Dino Bachini (Donna) and their extensive families whom he adored. Ali instantly loved the family closeness Rhode Island offered him. He was steadfast to maintain his independence insisting on finding a home close to the action so he could walk to his local breakfast spot, get the paper and hit the casino.
Our beloved Ali was preceded to heaven by his parents, brother Edo Bachini (Roberta), cousin Olinto Bachini (Andrea) and is survived by his sister Carla Blaskovic (Silvio) of Highland Beach, Florida, sons Daniel Bachini (Cathryn) of Pearl River, New York, Joseph Bachini of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, two grandsons Celestino Bachini and Anthony Daly, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 at 12:15 p.m. at the Church of the Presentation, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence.
