Alice J. Herchen

Alice J. (Kane) Herchen 89, of 39 Audubon Avenue, North Providence passed away on Wednesday October 26th at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Russell J. Herchen, Sr. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Charles J. and Anna J. (White) Kane. Mrs. Herchen had been a loving and devoted mother to her six children staying at home to raise them. During the Christmas season she would work at the Outlet Company. She leaves four sons Richard C. Herchen of North Providence, Russell J. Herchen of North Providence, Vincent P. Herchen of Smithfield, and Michael S. Herchen and his wife Tiffani of Smithfield; two daughters Virginia Herchen of North Kingston and Marie Goodman and her husband Steve of Somerset, MA; two sisters, Dorothy P. Regan of Johnston, and Anne T. Kane of Johnston and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Charles E. Kane, Sr. Mary Zita, F.C.J. and Margaret A. Unsworth.Her funeral will be held on Monday, at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Academy Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting Hours Sunday 3-6 pm.
