

Allen Donald Lopes, 62, a lifelong resident of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away at his home on June 15, 2020. Allen is the son of the late Manuel J. Lopes and Henri Lopes and husband of Michelle Lopes who he shared thirty-eight happy & loving years of marriage.
Allen is survived by his mother Henri Lopes of Rhode Island, son Nathanial Lopes, daughter in-law Desiree Lopes, granddaughter Josalyn Lopes of South Carolina and his son Alexander Lopes of Rhode Island as well as several nieces and nephews and a grandniece. Allen is the brother of Joseph Lopes, Cheryl Lopes, the late William Lopes and the late Linda Lopes.
Allen graduated from LaSalle Academy proudly with the class of 1975. He was an attendant of RIC & SMU. Allen proudly worked for the State of Rhode Island as a 911 Dispatcher and Supervisor for 29 years before his retirement in 2015.
Allen was an avid youth sports fan and coach. He was a founding board member of the Providence Intramural Basketball League and youth coach for Elmhurst & Mt Pleasant Little Leagues & Providence Babe Ruth Baseball for 20 years. He was a big fan of the New England sports teams, most notably the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He enjoyed comedies such as the Simpsons and Family Guy and was pretty good at Jeopardy. Allen is remembered as a hard working and loving brother, husband and father who was wholly dedicated to the happiness of his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
