

Aniello "Niel" Laudati, 92, died peacefully on March 9, 2007 after a long illness.He was a lifelong resident of New Jersey, before moving to Rhode Island in 2004 to be near his daughter. He was the husband of the late Angelina Albergato Laudati and the late Mary Zarella Rosamilla Laudati. He was the son of the late Gerardo and Annunziata Molinaro Laudati. He leaves his daughter, Nancy Laudati Derrig and her husband Richard Derrig of Providence; and son Niel Laudati and his wife Mary Ann Coppola Laudati of Las Vegas. He is also the stepfather of Diane Spano and Robert Rosamilla of New Jersey. He is survived by four brothers, all of New Jersey, Gerald, Anthony, Paul, and the Reverend Joseph J. Laudati. He was also the brother of the late Philomena Lamola, Mary Branin and Frank Laudati, all of New Jersey. He was the grandfather of Jill Derrig Rossi and Matthew Derrig both of Pawtucket, Barbara Laudati Rose of Las Vegas and Niel Laudati, of Oregon. He was the great grandfather of Tess Angela Rossi of Pawtucket, Nicholas, Jonathan and Olivia Rose of Las Vegas and Evan Niel and Claire Laudati of Oregon. He also had four step grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren, all of New Jersey. Before retiring he worked as a machinist for Suffolk Manufacturing Co., of Bloomfield, New Jersey for 35 years. The company made cigar boxes and novelty boxes of all kinds. Niel was an amateur inventor who was responsible for many machine improvements during his work years. He loved visiting his family and friends in New Jersey, Las Vegas and Florida, and through the years he was a frequent visitor to Providence. Neil was a man who greatly enjoyed helping relatives and friends in anyway he could. He was often called upon to assist with various projects in which his many skills were utilized. He was an avid reader of both mysteries and non fiction. He was loved by his family and friends and he will be remembered for his great humor, generosity and kindness. Visitation will be at the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home 331 Smith Street, Providence on Sunday, March 11, 2007 from. 5pm-7pm. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 9:30am from the Megaro Funeral Home in Belleville, New Jersey. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Bishop Dominic Marconi at 11am at St. Theresa's Church in Kenilworth, New Jersey. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, New Jersey.
