Ann Marie (Irving) Mattera, 67, of Stonelaw Ave., passed away January 11, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathryn (Wright) Irving. She had been the beloved wife of William V. Mattera for 49 years.
She was the devoted mother to Ann M. Orsini and husband Steven, Denise A. Ricci and husband John, William C. Mattera and wife Kimberly; cherished grandmother of Victoria, Ava, Steven, Christi, Denise, Karina, Joshua, Kyra and great-granddaughter, Annabelle; sister of Kathryn Mattera, Dorothy Calise and Isabelle McGurn.
Ann Marie was a devoted Catholic and communicant of St. Pius Church.
Visitation will be held Monday, 4-7 p.m. with a funeral on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, Eaton Street, Providence, followed by a graveside burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
