Anna Marie Vescera

She was the devoted wife of the late Frank Vescera, and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage before he was called to eternal rest in January of 2021. She was the eldest daughter, born in Providence, to the late Rocco and Jennie (Caparco) DeAngelis.

Marie worked for many years in the business office at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital before retiring, where she was known for her warmth and dedication. She expressed her love for family through her cooking, particularly her famous pizza, and by hosting weekly Sunday dinners that brought everyone together. She also treasured going dancing with her husband, Frank, a reflection of their joyful and enduring bond.

Marie is survived by her loving children, Gail Vescera, Francine Leonardo and her husband, Paul, and Frank Patrick Vescera and his wife, Geri-Anne; her five grandchildren, Lauren Manocchia, Nicholas Manocchia, Danielle Leonardo, Justin Vescera, and Brandon Vescera; her great-grandsons, Nicholas Jozef Manocchia and Evan William Manocchia; and her siblings Gloria (DeAngelis) Labbadia of North Providence, Dolores (DeAngelis) Stoeckel of Smithfield, Joseph DeAngelis of Ontario, Canada, and Anthony DeAngelis of Lincoln.

She was the sister of the late Thomas DeAngelis, Caroline (DeAngelis) Hines, Robert DeAngelis, and Elaine (DeAngelis) Zinanni.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visitation on Saturday, January 18, 2025, starting at 9 am in the PONTARELLI-MARINO HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence.

Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
