To the woman that would not quick. To the woman that did not know what the word NO means.When I think of you I first start off with a small grim, I recall the weekends at your house when I was small.The way you would call me Richie when you called. As I grew our relationship did too. The days at the deli when you would come in, walk to the front of the line yell out, "I'm next my grandson owns this place" as everyone knows you might have a short fall on waiting for ANYTHING, you have a heart of gold,always a kind word and always time to listen. You were a women that would not quit, at age 56 you got your drivers license, which was amazing and scary at the same time. You will always be remembered for the great cook that you were. Anyone that tasted your food loved it.I will miss the phone calls from you to run those crazy errands just so you could see me. The quick lunches we had at Newport Creamery.The call to take you to Venda's.The way you were always trying to marry me off.The memories and traditions that you have left me with not only touched me but so many others.I know that you will be missed by many and they will all get comfort from the smiles you gave them.To say THANK YOU is not enough.You may not be walking with us any more but we all carry the great memories of Annie in our hearts forever. Everytime I see a butterfly I will think of you.

here are some of the fond memories I have of you...
* your gentle voice and strong faith...for the times I thought were gloomy you would hold my hand and say "Carol, Have faith...it will all work out.."
* your passion for a great bargain (your favorites Jean's, The Outlet, Gladdings, Tidlden Thurbers, TJ maxx, and Jordan Marsh)
*The scent of White Diamonds .
* The hours of conversations at your kitchen table...some happy and some sad..
*the stories about your trips with Grandpa Tony. (Hawaii, Italy by boat, California, etc.)
*the candles lit in the fireplace while Grandpa Tony was in the hospital.
* your honesty about everything...
* your love for your family and even the extended family(my friends)  
*your dedication to friendship...how you always told me it's the quality of the friendship not the quanity.  
* the importance of family dinners such as the dinners with Ida & Bill from Worcester, and who ever else was free to enjoy your great cooking.  You made the best stuffed artichokes and summer squash casserole.
* your constant open door...how you would call for me to bring the "children" (aka twins: David and Lillian over to your house whenever your friends came over for coffee.  You were so proud of them. 
*How you always had special things in the fridge for all...ice cream sandwiches for all (the twins and their friends too)
*I'll never forget the Friday nights..going to Ideal Market  on Atwells Ave(all the olives we ate while waiting for Frankie to cut the meats).
*The annual summer outing to Rocky Point with the cousins from Canada; boy how Grandpa Tony loved to see the smiles on our faces!!
* The St John's bus trips to NYC with Auntie Louisa, Mrs Calenda, My mom and me) to see the Rockettes at Christmas time.
*the dinner at Marco's in NYC  (one of your favorites)

* to all the Good Fridays I would cut the meat and beat the dozens of eggs for the rice pies, ricotta pies, and ham pie.  
* to all of the times the people from St Johns would come over after Grandpa's mass for coffee and your butter sticks, pizelles, and wine bisciuts.
* to all the times you told me to get a cool wave because you loved curly hair on me.
* to your persistence about always having your house just so...lemon oil on the cabinets and Val oil on the fireplace.
* your blue powder puff car parked in front of St Augustine's church on a Saturday night at 500 mass.

Gram I could continue for hours but I will end by saying "thank you for your love, dedication, passion, faith, and honesty.  You were a role model for me and hopefully I will pass on many of your traditions to David and Lillian..
