My maiden name is Karen Pinto. I grew up with Sylvana. We were best friends and when she moved from the bronx I was devastated. She was so beautiful. I was always at her mothers apartment. I was not a vegetarian then and I recall eating her moms chicken stew and fresh baked goodies all the time. So delicious. We were inseparable. The notorious spin the bottle l often mention with Vince Tricoli happened in her mothers apartment and it is a memory that lasted me my whole life. Gemma Vitiello and Emilio D'Arco amongst others I remember were part of our crowd. It's a sad reminder of life and how fast it goes and how we lose touch with people that played a big role in our lives. Slyvana my old friend rest in peace and know I will never forget you. My condolences to you Jessica her mother, her aunt and the entire family.
